Farmville Relay for Life, 2003
The following is a letter from the Farmville Relay for Life Chairperson. I received it after performing at that event, and it touched my heart. Now, I'd like to share it with you.

Dear Ernest,
I cannot thank you enough for your willingness to share your gift of song with the people of Farmville again at the 2004 Relay for Life, next May. Those who attended our "Innaugural Relay" this past May were truly blessed by your songs at our Luminary Service. This was a very emotional time for many who had lost loved ones to cancer or had in fact suffered themselves. The comforting words and the wonderful deliverance was up-lifting and soothing for the soul. You are truly blessed by the Lord and He will continue to bless as you are so willing to share your talents with others.

Relay for Life is not only the signature fund raiser for the American Cancer Society, but a time of celebration for survivors and an opportunity to honor the memory of those we have lost to this dreaded disease. I lost my mother six years ago after a three year battle and I know she was listening from heaven and rejoicing with us.

Thanks to you and all the volunteers and teams we reached a record $81,400 at our relay increasing the hope for a cure! We were awarded a trophy for raising the most money at a "Rookie Relay" in this region, NC, SC, and GA.

Thank you so much for being a part of this special event and may God richly bless you and your ministry in song.

With deepest gratitude,
Gayle Brock, Event Chair
Farmville Relay for Life
